Every knife in all Classic Shun Knife Sets are made in Japan by Shun following the Kasumi method of knife making. Shun Classic Knives are made in Seki city Japan by Shun and features the high standard (typical of all shun knife sets) VG-10 stainless steel blade with 32 layers (16 on each side) of stainless alloy.

Each of the Shun Classic Knives has a one-piece stainless steel bolster, tang and end cap (which basically means the steel runs the whole way through the knife- no cheap handles to snap off) and come with a lifetime warranty. Shun Classic Knives are made with a black PakkaWood (composite hardwood) handle.
